Spartans Dominate Opening Game of Thanksgiving Classic, 89-39
TAMPA, Fla. – The University of Tampa women's basketball team delivered its most dominant performance of the season Friday night, overpowering Davis & Elkins in an 89–39 non-conference victory inside the Bob Martinez Athletics Center.

HOW IT HAPPENED
First Half
Tampa set the tone early with crisp ball movement, efficient shooting, and suffocating defense. The Spartans posted 20 points in the first quarter and broke the game open in the second, outscoring the Senators 27–12 to take full command.
Tampa dominated the interior from the start, fueled by Ryan Franklin's 15 first-half points, while Amy Thompson and Olivia Davis each knocked down early threes to extend the lead. Tampa's defensive pressure held Davis & Elkins to 24 first-half points on 9-of-28 shooting.
Behind a 47–24 advantage on the scoreboard and a 26–9 rebounding margin, the Spartans carried a 23-point lead into halftime.
Second Half
Tampa continued its balanced scoring attack, adding 19 third-quarter points and closing strong with a 23-6 fourth quarter. Franklin remained unstoppable around the rim, finishing with a game-high 21 points on 10-of-14 shooting.
Tampa's bench delivered throughout the night, contributing 38 points, including key production from Maddie O'Berski (9 pts), Faith Pickens (9 pts, 3 blk), and Jade Thompson (6 pts). The Spartans connected on 58 percent of their field-goal attempts and knocked down eight three-pointers while holding the Senators to just six points in the final period.
Tampa owned the glass with a 50–19 rebounding advantage, racked up 46 points in the paint, and forced 17 turnovers that turned into 23 points. The Spartans also generated 17 fast-break points in the runaway victory.
