Tampa Pulls Away for 75–55 Road Win Over Lynn
BOCA RATON, Fla. – The University of Tampa women's basketball team turned in a dominant defensive performance Tuesday afternoon, earning a 75–55 Sunshine State Conference road victory over Lynn at the de Hoernle Sports & Cultural Center. This win will be number 498 for Head Coach Tom Jessee at the University of Tampa, bringing him one victory closer to 500 wins with this program.

HOW IT HAPPENED
First Half
Tampa set the tone immediately, jumping out to a commanding lead behind efficient shooting and strong defensive pressure. The Spartans knocked down five three-pointers in the opening quarter and held Lynn to just six points, building a 24–6 advantage after one.
Lynn found some offensive rhythm in the second quarter, cutting into the deficit behind second-chance points and perimeter shooting. Despite the push, Tampa continued to control the pace, leaning on balanced scoring from Giorgia Palmieri, Ryan Franklin, and Alanis Diaz to take a 38–23 lead into halftime.
Second Half
The Spartans maintained control coming out of the break, opening the third quarter with steady interior scoring and trips to the free-throw line. Franklin anchored the paint while Palmieri and Diaz created opportunities off the dribble, allowing Tampa to extend its lead to 58–38 entering the final period.
In the fourth quarter, Tampa closed the game with disciplined defense and timely baskets. The Spartans limited Lynn's transition opportunities and continued to attack the rim, outscoring the Fighting Knights 17–17 in the final frame to secure the 75–55 road win.
Tampa shot 50 percent from the field and held Lynn to just 33.3 percent shooting. The Spartans also won the rebounding battle, 35–31, and converted 14 points off turnovers.

Tampa will face Montana State Billings on Saturday, Dec. 20 at 2:15 p.m. EST, followed by a matchup with Texas A&M–Kingsville on Sunday, Dec. 21, at 12 p.m. EST. After the holiday tournament, the Spartans will take a break before returning home in the new year to host Florida Tech on Jan. 3 at 2 p.m. EST.
