Saint Leo Invitational in the Books for Tampa
SAINT LEO, Fla. - The University of Tampa women's golf team concluded the Saint Leo Invitational with a 15th-place effort. The two-round event was played at Lake Jovita Golf and Country Club.
The Spartans shot a 342 and 332 as the tournament was won by Lynn University (603) in a playoff with Flagler College. Fellow Sunshine State Conference opponents Barry and Florida Tech tied for third with a 608 apiece.
A pair of freshmen led the way for Missey Jones' Spartans. Grace Marie Schian and Grace Ziamandanis shot a 160 and 167 respectively as Schian finished 39th overall. Schian's second-round 79 also marked a low round for the Spartans.
Brittany Bradshaw (172), Jenee Vanderstyne (175) and Fatin Amin (184) also competed for the Spartans.
The Spartans return to action on Oct. 28-29 at the Flagler Invitational as they conclude the fall season. The event will be played at Marsh Creek Country Club in St. Augustine, Fla.
