UT Concludes Cincinnati Invitational
CRYSTAL RIVER, Fla. - In its final regular season tournament of the 2013-14 season, the University of Tampa women's golf team squared off against some of the nation's top teams in a 14th-place showing at the Cincinnati Invitational at Plantation Inn Resort.
The Spartans shot a 318 in the third and final round on Sunday, recording a final score of 993 (+129). Jacksonville University won the team title with an 887 (+23). A total of 10 NCAA Division I schools competed.
Tampa was one of three Sunshine State Conference institutions as Lynn was second at 894 and Florida Southern finished in a fourth-place tie with host Cincinnati at 911.
Fatin Amin was the top golfer for the Spartans, finishing with a 246 (+30) and 63rd place. After starting the tournament with an 86, Amin carded an 80 in each of the final two rounds.
Also golfing for Tampa was Jenee Vanderstyne (249), Brittany Bradshaw (251), Robin Manarik (257), Grace Ziamandanis (258) and Grace Marie Schian (260). Ziamandanis' 78 in the final round represented the top round for any Spartan.
Tampa will compete at the 2014 Sunshine State Conference Championships on April 13-15, which will take place at Lake Jovita Country Club in Dade City, Fla.
