Tampa Concludes Season at SSC Championships
DADE CITY, Fla. - The University of Tampa women's golf team competed head-to-head with some of the nation's top teams and came away with an eighth-place finish at the 2014 Sunshine state Conference Championships at Lake Jovita Country Club.
The three-day, three-round event featured several nationally-ranked teams as the Spartans turned in a score of 1,001 (+137). Lynn University captured the SSC Championship with an 897 (+33) as Saint Leo's Marie Coors was the medalist with a 218 (+2).
The Spartans turned in respective scores of 336, 331 and 334.
Fatin Amin led UT with a score of 239 (+23), which put her in 27th place. Amin carded rounds of 81, 76 and 82 as her second-round effort was the top round for all Spartans and the lone sub-80 round for UT.
Grace Marie Schian followed with a 253, as the Spartan lineup also included Brittany Bradshaw (257), Grace Ziamandanis (259) and Jenee Vanderstyne (260).
The Spartans wrap up a 2013-14 season that saw three top-10 team performances as UT played at some of the top tournaments in the nation. Head coach Missey Jones also looks to return four of her five members of the lineup next season.
