Justine Bayle, Ruth Toennessen Earn All-SSC Honors
ORLANDO, Fla. – The Sunshine State Conference announced its 2026 All-SSC Women's Golf selections, with the University of Tampa placing two student-athletes on the all-conference teams.
Justine Bayle highlighted the Spartans with First Team honors, while Ruth Toennessen earned Second Team recognition.
Bayle, a sophomore from Paris, France, secures her second consecutive all-conference selection after being named SSC Freshman of the Year in 2025. She continued her strong play throughout the 2025-26 campaign with multiple top finishes, including a third-place result at the World Golf Invitational behind rounds of 74-72-73. Bayle also recorded 84 head-to-head wins in that event and competed for medalist honors in Tampa's spring opener, reinforcing her position among the conference's top performers.
Toennessen, a senior from Stavanger, Norway, earns All-SSC honors following a consistent season in Tampa's lineup. She posted a top-five finish at the SSC Championship with a 222 (+6) and added a fourth-place finish in spring competition with rounds of 72-74-74 (+7). Toennessen also placed inside the top 25 at the World Golf Invitational, providing steady scoring throughout the year.
A total of eight institutions were represented on this year's All-Conference list. Nova Southeastern led the way with three selections, while Tampa, Barry, Eckerd, Florida Southern, and Lynn each had two apiece.
Barry's Tereza Zavrelova was named SSC Women's Golfer of the Year after compiling a 531-73-13 head-to-head record against conference opponents and currently ranking No. 7 in NCAA Division II.
Nova Southeastern's Alexandra Remaklus earned Freshman of the Year honors after capturing the SSC Championship title at Cabot Citrus Farms, shooting -2 in the final round to finish even for the tournament. She posted a 546-119-21 head-to-head record in conference play.
Nova Southeastern head coach Heather Wall was named SSC Coach of the Year for the second consecutive season and third time overall after leading the Sharks to the conference championship.
Four golfers earned All-SSC recognition for the second straight season, including Bayle, Lynn's Amelia Ruiz Topali, Florida Southern's Clare Gimpel, and Nova Southeastern's Maria Torres Lobato.
All-conference selections and individual award winners are determined by a vote of SSC head coaches with oversight and approval from member institution athletic directors.
