Spartans Complete Opening Two Rounds at NCAA Championships
PALM BEACH GARDENS, Fla. – The University of Tampa women's golf team completed the opening two rounds of the 2026 NCAA Division II Women's Golf Championships on Wednesday at PGA National Resort after weather suspended Tuesday's first round before completion.
The Spartans enter Thursday's third round of stroke play in ninth place overall at 41-over-par following team rounds of 313 and 304.
Tuesday's opening round was halted due to inclement weather before play resumed Wednesday morning to conclude round one. Teams then immediately returned to the course for round two, with the Spartans improving by nine strokes during the second round.
The top eight teams following Thursday's third and final stroke play round will advance to match play competition beginning Friday.

- T13 – Justine Bayle: 149 (+5) | Rounds of 75-74 | Team's top individual through 36 holes with Tampa's low round of the tournament (74) in round two.
- T32 – Ruth Toennessen: 153 (+9) | Rounds of 78-75 | Improved by three strokes in round two and sits inside the top 35 individually.
- T54 – Kelly Shanahan: 157 (+13) | Rounds of 80-77 | Posted Tampa's second-best round of the afternoon session Wednesday.
- T59 – Kat Brictson: 158 (+14) | Rounds of 80-78 | Counted in both team rounds for the Spartans.
- T84 – Maria Mora: 165 (+21) | Rounds of 82-83 | Continues NCAA Championship play for Tampa.
DBU leads the tournament field at 11-over-par, followed by Wingate at 12-over-par after two rounds.
Tampa returns to the course Thursday for round three as the Spartans look to climb into the top eight and secure a berth into Friday's match play quarterfinals.
