Spartans Fall One Spot to No. 6 in the Latest IWLCA Coaches Poll
In the latest IWLCA coaches poll, the University of Tampa women's lacrosse team comes in at No. 6.
TAMPA, Fla. – In the IWLCA Division II Coaches poll announced on Monday, April 15, the University of Tampa women's lacrosse program fell one spot to No. 6. Tampa earns this rank after being defeated by No. 5 Rollins by a final score of 18-10 and dominating the Palm Beach Atlantic Sailfish by a final score of 23-5. The Spartans have two SSC games remaining. On Wednesday, UT will host Saint Leo at 7:30 p.m., then the Spartans will wrap up their 2019 regular season campaign in Daytona Beach, Florida for a 5:00 p.m. game against the Eagles.
Le Moyne College (13-0) continued its stranglehold on the top spot in the Division II Coaches Poll, collecting all 25 first-place votes again this week. Adelphi (12-1) took the second spot, and Rollins (13-1) jumped into the number three position after dispatching both Tampa and Saint Leo last week. Regis (13-0) knocked off Lindenwood (12-1) to vault into the top five, landing in fourth, while Florida Southern (14-2) took the fifth spot this week. Tampa (10-3), West Chester (11-2), Lindenwood, LIU Post (10-3), and Queens (13-2) round out the top ten teams this week.
This week features several Top-25 games, starting with #19 Pace at #17 Assumption, #18 Merrimack at #21 Bentley, and LIU Post (#9) at #16 New Haven on Tuesday. #22 Saint Leo visits #6 Tampa on Wednesday, and #24 Mount Olive takes on Queens (#10) on Thursday. Saturday only features one Top-25 game: top-ranked Le Moyne at Bentley.
