GAMEDAY ADVANCE: Tampa Looks to Defend Home Field as They Take on Grand Valley State

TAMPA, Fla. – The University of Tampa women's lacrosse team is scheduled to take on Grand Valley State University at home in their second game of the season.

The Matchup: No. 13 University of Tampa (1-0) vs. No. 14 Grand Valley State University (1-0)

Date/Time: Sunday, February 20, 2022, at 11:00 a.m.

Location: Naimoli Family Athletic and Intramural Complex. 1120 West North A Street, Tampa, FL 33606

Series History: UT has never played GVSU. This is the first official meeting between the two teams.

About the Spartans: Tampa comes into this game already winning their first official game of the season against Alabama-Huntsville, 22-5. Tampa dominated the entire game with Sarah Hinkle leading the way with five goals. Julia Kolderman and Gia Colombo each had two assists. In that game, Tampa outshot Alabama-Huntsville 38-10. They look to carry this momentum into Sunday mornings game.

About the Lakers: The Lakers will enter the game also winning their first game of the season against St. Leo University. The game for them was back and forth until they came back and dominated the remaining minutes. Molly Bursinger scored six goals and Sydney Stone following behind with five in the season opener. The Lakers also come into the matchup ranked No. 14 nationally.
