Women's Lacrosse Returns Home for Matchup with Lee
TAMPA, Fla. - The No. 5 ranked Spartans will play at home for the second time this season as they are set to welcome Lee.
The Matchup: No. 5 University of Tampa (4-2, 0-0 SSC) vs. Lee (6-2, 0-0 GSC)
Date/Time: Monday, March 11, 2024 at 4:30 p.m.
Location: Naimoli Family Athletic and Intramural Complex. 1120 West North A Street, Tampa, FL 33606
Series History: The lone meeting between Tampa and Lee came in 2022. The Spartans defeated the Flames, 22-4 at Naimoli Family Athletic and Intramural Complex.
About the Spartans: The Spartans have spent much of the 2024 campaign on the road and are returning to Naimoli after a three-game road stretch. Tampa will play at home for just the second time this season and are looking to win at home for the first time this season. UT has won two straight games since a road loss to top-ranked Pace on March 4. Goalkeeper, Alex Walling ranks second in the Sunshine State Conference in goals against average (6.79). Tampa has yet to play an SSC matchup and are slated to do so towards the end of March.
About the Flames: The Flames sport an impressive 6-2 overall record on the season. The Flames two losses are to Sunshine State Conference opponents in Lynn and Rollins who the Spartans are very familiar with. Lee is coming off a dominant home win over Thomas More University in which saw sophomore, Callie Curtis and redshirt senior, Maggie Luzier each tally four goals. Luzier leads the Falmes in gaols with 23 while Curtis is second on the team with 20. Lee has yet to play a conference game in 2024.
