Women's Lacrosse Set for Home Opener
TAMPA, Fla. - Spartans return to action for first home matchup of 2026.

No. 3 University of Tampa (1-1, 0-0 SSC) at No. 25 Lander (2-2, 0-0 GSC)

Series History: The two programs first met in 2022, and Tampa topped Lander, 25-5, on the road. The two teams will meet for just the second time Monday afternoon, and it will be the first time it's at Naimoli Family Athletic and Intramural Complex.
About the Spartans: Tampa will play its first home contest of the season on Monday versus Lander and its first game since February 14th, when the team traveled to Indianapolis. The Spartans look to get back into the win column after dropping to No. 3 in the latest IWLCA rankings. Senior attacker, Peyton Howell, is on the verge of capturing 200 career points, being just five shy. Howell is just three points away from moving into second all-time in program history for points. Isabel McGarvey and Mary Kate Person lead the team in points with seven. Kierstyn Zinter leads the team in draw controls with 10, and Isabella Avila leads the way with seven caused turnovers.
About the Bearcats: Lander enters the game with a 2-2 overall record and the No. 25 ranking in the IWLCA poll. The Bearcats victories came against Newberry and Mount Olive at home. Caroline Nicholson leads the program in points (13) and in goals (10). Kaia Morey has caused a team-high 13 turnovers while also adding a team-high 13 groundballs.
