Spartans Move Up One Spot in IWLCA Rankings
NORTHBOROUGH, Mass.— Flagler College, now 12–0 on the season, maintains the No. 1 ranking in this week's IWLCA Division II Coaches Poll. The Saints opened Gulf South Conference play with a dominant win over conference newcomer Virginia State on Saturday, following a 19–12 victory over No. 6 Embry-Riddle earlier in the week. Flagler will look to extend its win streak at home this Saturday against Lander, which is receiving votes.
Florida Southern holds steady at No. 2 for another week after powering past No. 4 Maryville with an impressive 20–10 victory, marking its largest win over a Top 5 opponent since April 11, 2017. The Mocs will host No. 11 Saint Leo on Wednesday in Lakeland.
UIndy remains at No. 3 and is set to face D'Youville this Sunday.
Tampa continues its climb, moving up to No. 4 following a 17–10 win over then-No. 4 Maryville. The Spartans will look to build on that momentum when they take on Lynn on March 25.
Rounding out the Top 5 is Embry-Riddle, which moves up one spot from last week. Despite its loss to Flagler, the Eagles rebounded with a 21–12 victory over Quincy and will face No. 14 Rollins at home in Daytona Beach.
In total, 25 teams are represented in the poll, with voters—college coaches from across the nation—reflecting the latest results across women's lacrosse. The rankings are based on weekly performances, with the poll set to be released each Monday throughout the season.
