Tampa to Host Florida Tech For SSC Home Opener
TAMPA, Fla. - After falling in the SSC opener on the road to Lynn, Tampa looks to get back on track Saturday night as the program hosts Florida Tech. This game will serve as the Stand As One game and will be a blackout.

About the Spartans: The Spartans fell to No. 8 Lynn in a tightly contested game, 14-13, picking up their second loss of the season and first in league play. Tampa returns to Naimoli Family Athletic and Intramural Complex for just the third time this season and is set for its conference home opener versus Florida Tech. In the SSC opener, Peyton Howell and Mary Kate Person led the way with three goals apiece. Person ranks third in all of NCAA Division II with 6.71 points per game. Senior Isabella Avila recorded her 100th career groundball in the contest and had seven draw controls and three caused turnovers.
About the Panthers: The No. 18-ranked program in the IWLCA poll defeated Palm Beach Atlantic in its league opener, 19-8. The Panthers have won two consecutive games for the first time this season after wins over Grand Valley State and PBA. Florida Tech's signature victory was over No. 2 Adelphi at the time.
