Spartan Rowers Complete Head of the South Regatta

AUGUSTA, Ga. - The University of Tampa crew team competed in its second race of the 2008-09 season as it sent two boats to the annual Head of the South Regatta.

UT competed in the women's club 4 and the lightweight 4, finishing sixth in both races. In the club, UT posted a time of 20:40.02 while the Spartans had a time of 21:30.93 in the lightweight competition. Davidson and Virginia Tech championed the events.

The club 4 consisted of Jeanette Nicewinter, Jessica Fontaine, Emily Tobalski, Alissa Price and coxswain Theresa Osborne. The lightweight 4 included Marris Smith, Alicia Thompson, Christine Halby, Kathryn Pielli and coxswain Alyssa Rodrigues.

The Spartans will next compete on February 28 when it participates in the Stetson Sprints in DeLand.
