Tampa,Fla.- The University of Tampa Women's Soccer team improves to 2-0 on the season, after defeating the Sharks of Nova Southeastern in non-conference action 2-1.The Sharks fall to 0-1 on the season.
Shelby Kuni started the attack late in the first half with a header off a corner kick by Courtney Evans. Nicole Murphy connected shortly after on another corner kick by Evans to end the period 2-0.
The Sharks amended the Spartan shutout with a goal late in the second period by Lauren Prow,assisted by Stephanie Quinones to close the gap to one.
Evans led the team with two assists as Kuni and Murphy each added a goal. Shannon Aitken allowed only one goal on six attempts by the Sharks.
The Spartans are back in action Friday August 31, @ 5pm as they take on Belmont-Abbey, at the Columbus State Invitational,in Columbus, Georgia.
