Spartans Women Set To Battle Lions On Senior Day
TAMPA, Fla. - The University of Tampa women's soccer team hosts Sunshine State Conference opponent Saint Leo at 7:00 p.m., on Wednesday at Pepin Stadium. This game is UT's women senior day.
Midfielder Courtney Peffley and defender Nicole Munnelly are the two seniors on this women's squad.
The No. 23 Spartans (11-3-3, 5-1-2 SSC) are 13-3 all-time against Saint Leo. The Spartans beat the Lions last season 3-1 at Saint Leo.
The Spartans are coming off a 1-1 tie against SSC opponent Florida Southern on Saturday.
Sophomore midfielder Lauren Moore leads the way for UT's women with 14 goals and four assists. Freshman forward Cici Gonzalez is second on the team in goals with 11, while sophomore forward Gabby Russo has added five goals.
The Lions (2-11-2, 1-5-1 SSC) are led by sophomore forward Ari Foreman, who has three goals. Freshman forward Shanelle Edwards is second on the team with two goals.
The Pepin Stadium gates will open at 6:00 p.m. Tickets will be available for $5. Children 12-and-under will be admitted free. UT faculty, staff and students are admitted free when displaying a valid Spartan ID card.
