TAMPA, Fla. - The University of Tampa women's soccer team dominated against Nova Southeastern on Saturday evening as the Spartans took home a 3-0 shutout victory. UT controlled most of the game and logged nine shots, six of which were on target.

All-time Series: UT leads 17-5-3, the second straight win for the Spartans following last season's SSC tournament performance.
HOW IT HAPPENED:
1st Half | The Spartans ripped five shots in the first half, and Emily Cady put UT in the lead on a fire-cracker from the 18 yard line to the upper right corner of the goal. Moeko Morse earned a penalty kick in the 18th minute and cashed in for her fourth goal of the year. The Spartans led in shots and corner kicks in the first half.
2nd Half | In the 67th minute, Julia Detwiler scored her first goal as a Spartan off an assist from Lauren McDanald. In the 70th minute, Nova Southeastern's Gabriela Alfaro was charged with a yellow card.
INSIDE THE STATS:
- Tampa did not allow a corner kick, while the Spartans took six corners.
- Cady tallied her third goal of the season with the first-half laser.
- The Spartans win the conference opener for the second consecutive season.
UP NEXT: The University of Tampa will host Eckerd College on Wednesday night, kickoff is scheduled for 7 p.m. at Pepin Stadium.
