Spartans Set to Host Embry-Riddle
TAMPA, Fla. - The University of Tampa women's soccer team will host Sunshine State Conference opponents Embry-Riddle in a weekend match.
The Matchup: Tampa Spartans (3-2-1, 2-0 SSC) vs. Embry-Riddle Eagles (4-1, 2-0 SSC)
Date/Time: Saturday, September 25 at 7 p.m.

About the Spartans: The Spartans are coming off a 2-1 win over Eckerd College, both goals netted by Stephanie DeLaforcade. Goalkeeper Lovisa Camel also had an impressive performance, recording seven saves on the night. Her final save being in the 89th minute, vital in the Spartans win. DeLaforcade leads the Spartans offense so far this season with 12 points (5G,2A), followed by Katherine Hostage with ten points (3G,4A). So far, defensively, Camel has registered 25 saves, a .806 save percentage, and a .96 goals-against average.
About the Eagles: On Wednesday, the Embry-Riddle Eagles secured their fourth win of the season over Florida Tech, winning 2-1 in overtime. Marie Myhrvold Seim, offensive leader for the Eagles, scored the game-winner in the 94th minute. Myhrvold Seim with nine points (3G,3A) thus far this season, just behind her with six points (2G,2A) is Isabelle Navren. In net for the Eagles is Oona Jokinen holding a .67 goals-against average, a .750 save percentage, and recorded nine saves on the season.
All-Time Series: The series is currently tied 4-4. The Spartans met the Eagles for the first time on the road in October of 1998, Spartans winning the match 3-2. The most recent meeting between the two teams was at the Embry-Riddle Soccer Stadium in November of 2019, Spartans falling 2-0 to the Eagles.
Tickets: General Admission ticket prices for all Tampa regular season athletic events are $5. Youth (ages 12 and under) are admitted free of charge. Students and faculty/staff are admitted free with a valid UT ID.
