Tampa Swimming Set for Home Opener

TAMPA, Fla. - The University of Tampa men's and women's swimming teams will host Savannah College of Art & Design in its 2011-12 home opener on Saturday. The meet is slated for 11 a.m., at the UT Swimming Complex.

The Spartans and Bees will meet in a rematch of last season's meeting that resulted in a split as the UT women were victorious.

The Spartans are coming off a pair of victories in its season opener, defeating Sunshine State Conference rival Florida Southern College on Oct. 15.

Norbert Kovacs posted three individual wins to land SSC Swimmer of the Week honors. On the women's side, sophomore Heather Glenday was the standout performer for the Spartans with two individual wins and a first-place relay finish.
