Spartan Women Notch Second Straight SSC Victory
TAMPA, Fla. - The University of Tampa women's swimming team defeated Lynn University by a 100-61 score on Saturday at the UT Aquatics Center. The Spartan men competed in an intersquad meet as Lynn does not field a men's team.
UT began and ended the meet with a relay victory, beginning with the 400 Medley Relay group of Allison Noe, Jamie Pappanastos, Catherine Parker and Erin Plachy logging a first-place time of 4:07.46. The 200 Free Relay team consisting of Emily Tan, Dana Scherer, Katie Gallimore and Plachy also won in 1:43.54.
Also winning for the Spartans in individual races were Plachy (200 Free, 2:03.14), Amy O'Brien (50 Free, 25.77), Pappanastos (200 IM, 2:19.12), Emily Grams (200 Fly, 2:15.71) and Heather Glenday (100 Free, 55.21).
The Spartans will next travel to Fort Pierce, Fla., to meet Indian River State College on Friday. The meet is scheduled for 2 p.m.
