Burlingtyn Bokos Named SSC Swimmer of the Week

TAMPA, Fla. - After leading the University of Tampa in its 2025-26 season opener, Burlingtyn Bokos has been recognized as the Sunshine State Conference Women's Swimmer of the Week. The award, sponsored by Pollo Campero, was announced Monday by the league office.

Bokos kicked off her season with a tremendous performance at the Eagle Invitational hosted by FGCU. The Hinsdale, Illinois native won the 400 IM with an NCAA "B" cut of 4:22.35. Bokos went on to finish runner-up in the 200 IM at 2:03.56 and in the 200 fly at 2:00.61, both NCAA "B" cuts. The sophomore's marks in the 400 IM, 200 IM, and 200 fly rank her second, first, and first in Division II, respectively. The weekly award is the second of her career.

Sunshine State Conference Athletes of the Week are chosen from a pool of nominees for their regular season performances during the week of October 6 - 12, 2025. Athletic Communication Directors of member institutions nominate athletes.
