MIAMI SHORES, Fla. - The #28 University of Tampa women's tennis team fell to perennial powerhouse #16 Barry University by a score of 8-1. UT drops to 2-6 on the year and 0-4 in Sunshine State Conference play while Barry improves to 5-1 and 3-0 in league play.
Emily Kennedy recorded the lone victory for the Spartans as she won at the number four singles spot. Kennedy was victorious over Laime Contreras by scores of 6-4, 1-6 and 12-10 in the deciding tie breaker.
The Spartans face another tough test tomorrow as they conclude a four-day, four match span against #10 Nova Southeastern in Fort Lauderdale. The match is scheduled to begin at 12 noon.
