Spartans Lose Close Battle with Undefeated Washburn

TAMPA, Fla. - Following a 12-day break, The University of Tampa tennis team fell to Washburn University by a 5-4 score. The Spartans are now 5-10 while the Lady Blues remain perfect at 6-0.

UT began the match with a doubles victory from the number one team of Estefania Greco and Kourtney Stark. The duo was victorious by an 8-6 score.

In singles, Stark won the number two match 7-5, 1-6, 6-2, while Caitlin Scudder and Ally Wooten picked up victories from the four and six spots respectively.

The Spartans return to action on Thursday when it hosts Augustana (S.D.) College in a 6:30 p.m., match. The night match will represent the first in Spartan history as the teams will play under the lights.
