SSC Tennis Tourney Set to Begin with Tampa Taking on #3 Lynn

LAKELAND, Fla. - The University of Tampa tennis team will open up the 2008 Sunshine State Conference Tournament against the number-one seed and national number-three Lynn University. The match is slated for Thursday at 11:30 a.m.

The Spartans will face the perennial powerhouse Fighting Knights, who will enter the contest with an overall record of 18-2. Lynn earned the top seed after finishing the regular season with a perfect 8-0 record in league action. UT is 9-13 heading into the match.

All 2008 SSC women's tennis championship matches will be held at the Beerman Tennis Center in Lakeland. Eckerd College will serve as the host.
