#2 Lynn Defeats Tampa In Opening Round Of SSC Tournament

BOCA RATON, Fla. - The University of Tampa (9-13) tennis team fell to No. 2 Lynn University (21-0) in the quarterfinals of the 2009 Sunshine State Conference tournament. The number-one seed, Lynn is also the host of the tournament, which was played at Patch Reef Park.

After winning all three doubles matches, the Fighting Knights also picked up victories from the number one and six singles spots.

UT will now meet the loser of Thursday's match between Nova Southeastern and Barry. The match is scheduled for Friday at 3 p.m. at Patch Reef Park.
