Spartans Fare Well At Fall Championships

MILLEDGEVILLE, Ga. - The University of Tampa tennis team competed at the Fall Championships at Georgia College & State University. The Spartans enjoyed success in both singles and doubles action.

Among the competition was North Carolina-Pembroke, Abraham Baldwin and Georgia College.

In the A Singles Division, Thashia Garcia won the singles as Meg Wladimirski lost in semifinal play.

In the B Singles Division, Chloe Pereira lost in semifinal as Jenelle Morgan beat Megan Mancini in the consolation final.

The C Singles Division included Maddie Caropino and Becky Ewing, who both lost in the semifinals. Briana Ryan then beat Kathleen Beckham in the consolation final.

The Spartans also had a duo competing in A Doubles, as the team of Lauren Hewett and Leslie Raymond lost in the final.

In B Doubles play, Kathleen Beckham and Amber Fahrner lost in the final as the duo of Caropino and Ewing and Mancini and Pereira each lost in semifinals.
