Spartans Drop Conference Opener Against Florida Tech

TAMPA, Fla. - In its Sunshine State Conference opener, the University of Tampa (2-2, 0-1 SSC) fell by a 7-2 score against No. 18 Florida Tech (2-1, 1-0 SSC) on Saturday at UT.

The number-three doubles team of Thashia Garcia and Briana Ryan gave Tampa a victory as it won by a score of 8-5.

Tampa picked up its other victory from the number-four singles position. Megan Mancini defeated her opponent by a score of 6-4, 6-3.

The Spartans are back in action on Tuesday as it plays host to No. 10 Florida Southern College at 3 p.m. The match will be played at the UT Tennis Complex.
