Spartans Have No Problems With MSU-Mankato
TAMPA, Fla. - The Mo. 43 University of Tampa
(3-5) tennis team made easy work of Minnesota State
University-Mankato, defeating the Mavericks by a score of 9-0 on
Sunday at the Naimoli & Young Family Tennis Complex.
Tampa easily won all three doubles matches, led by the one team of
Kristen Mee and Kelsey Matthews by an 8-2 score. The freshmen duo
of Gianna Pinasco and Emily Hewland won at two by a mark of 8-1 as
Cameron Moskol and Jenelle Morgan blanked their opponents in the
three match.
UT took all six singles matches in straight set, with the victories
coming from Mee, Matthews, Pinasco, Hewland, Moskol and Morgan.
Hewland and Morgan each won 6-0, 6-0.
The Spartans will now gear up for a spring break week, which
includes a pair of weekday matches. UT will host Charleston (W.V.)
on Monday at 3 p.m., and Stonehill on Wednesday at 10 a.m.
