No. 45 Tampa Cruises to Seventh Straight Win
TAMPA, Fla. - The No. 45 University of Tampa (8-5) tennis team picked up its seventh straight victory with a 9-0 win over the University of Puerto Rico-Mayaguez (0-1) on Tuesday at the Naimoli & Young Family Tennis Complex.
In doubles action, the number-one team of Kristen Mee and Kelsey Matthews were victorious 8-1 as the second team of Gianna Pinasco and Emily Hewland and the three team of Jenelle Morgan and Cameron Moskol also picked up wins.
Mee took the main court match in straight sets, 6-0, 6-2, in singles play. Matthews blanked her opponent, as did Hewland at four and Moskol at five. Pinasco and Morgan also won at three and six respectively.
Tampa resumes Sunshine State Conference play on Thursday when it travels to Rollins College for a 4 p.m., match versus the Tars.
