Spartans Record "Nice" Victory Over Stonehill
UT takes second straight 9-0 win.
TAMPA, Fla. – The University of Tampa tennis team registered its second straight 9-0 victory as it easily handled Stonehill College.

- The Spartans took a quick 3-0 lead after sweeping doubles.
- The top team of Caroline Lozo and Emily Hewland squeeked out a 9-7 win.
- The two and three teams of Lilley Nice and Maddie Stephens and the three team of Ava Sowell and Danielle Beyes both won 8-1.
- Lozo was the first to win in singles, taking a 6-0, 6-0 win at number one.
- After losing the first set in a tiebreak, Hewland rebounded to win 6-4 and 10-4 at two.
- Nice claimed a 6-2, 6-4 number three victory.
- At four, Stephens emerged victorious 6-2, 6-1.
- Sowell took the five event 6-0, 6-3.
- At six, Gianna Pinasco played to a 6-0, 6-1 victory.
BEYOND THE BOXSCORE:
- Stephens is a perfect 9-0 in singles play this season. The sophomore is 6-0 at number-four and also won three matches at the UT invite to open the regular season.
- Nice is a perfect 6-0 in dual match singles play.
- The Spartans are a perfect 12-0 this season in the number four and five singles slots.
UP NEXT: The Spartans will meet Minnesota State University, Mankato in a neutral site match on Thursday at 7 p.m., in Orlando at Lake Cane Tennis Center.
