ST. LEO, Fla. – The No. 25 University of Tampa tennis team fell by a 7-2 score in a Sunshine State Conference matchup with No. 9 Saint Leo University.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
  • Tampa won the number two doubles contest as the Lions took two-of-three.
  • The lone Spartan singles victory came at the number-six spot.
  • The number two doubles team of Maddie Stephens and Vanina Iordanova rallied to a 9-7 win.
  • Gianna Pinasco had the other UT victory as she played to a six-singles win by scores of 6-3, 6-3.

BEYOND THE BOXSCORE:

  • Tampa had its five-match winning streak snapped.
  • Number-one singles player Caroline Lozo missed her fifth straight match.

UP NEXT:
Tampa faces another stiff SSC test at home on Friday as they welcome No. 22 Florida Tech at 3 p.m.
