How it Happened:
Going up against one of the top teams in the country, the Spartans knew they had a long fight ahead of them. The match started out with doubles before transitioning to singles play. In doubles, West Florida was able to earn early leads on all three courts before quickly picking up their first court win. West Florida went on to win all three courts but the Tampa Pair of Nicole Cierniak and Sophia Gutkowski put up a strong fight against the UWF ones, fighting back to force extra sets before. As the match transitioned to singles play, Tampa was looking to show once again they can hang with the top teams in the country. Nicole Cierniak and Sophie Wagner both gave strong efforts against their UWF counterparts, earning leads in 3 separate sets. Unfortunately for Tampa, they were unable to pick up any points as UWF went on to sweep singles play.
Doubles Results: 3-0 UWF - One Point
Singles Results: 6-0 UWF - Six Points
