ORLANDO, Fla. – The University of Tampa women's tennis team delivered a complete performance on Wednesday morning, earning a 6–1 victory over Emporia State in the first‑ever meeting between the programs at the USTA National Campus. The Spartans secured a tight doubles point and rode that momentum through five singles wins, three of them in straight sets.

How It Happened
Tampa captured the doubles point with wins on courts two and one. Mia Zorrilla / Nicole Casas struck first, 6–3 at No. 2, before Rebecca Presley / Linn Eriksson Sundling clinched the point in a tiebreak, 7–6 (7–5), at the top spot. Emporia State answered with a 6–4 win on court three.
In singles, Rebecca Presley set the tone with a dominant 6–1, 6–0 victory at No. 1, and Karine Kulidjian followed with a straight‑set win at No. 2. Gabi Sanchez added another in straights at No. 5, while Sophie Wagner closed the door with a gritty 7–5 second set on court six. Alexandra Chebli rallied from a set down to win a 10–4 super‑tiebreak at No. 4. Emporia State's lone point came at No. 3 in a third‑set super‑tiebreak.
