Tampa Remains Perfect with 3-0 Win at Lynn
Boca Raton, Fla. - The University of Tampa (17-0, 5-0) completes the Miami area sweep with a 3-0 victory over Lynn (6-6, 2-2) with the scores 30-27, 30-18 and 30-15. The Spartans are now 17-0 on the season and approaching their best start ever, which was 22-0 in 1988.
Tampa led the first game throughout but sloppy play let Lynn stay in it as the final score was 30-27. Stephanie Rivera led the way offensively with five kills on six attempts.
The second game Tampa came out with some big swings to build a large lead and they never looked back cruising their way to a 30-18 win. Katelen Dixon led the Spartans with five kills for a total of 10 through the first two games.
The Spartans looked just as good in the third game as they did in the second, with an overpowering 30-16 victory, completing the three game sweep.
Dixon led the team with 14 kills and also had 13 digs for her team leading seventh double-double of the season. Erin Clark had a great match as she recorded 12 kills while hitting .417. Margeaux Sinibaldi once again led the team with 14 digs.
Tampa takes its undefeated record on the road once again Friday at #5 Florida Southern beginning at 7:00 pm.
