Tampa Sweeps Weekly Conference Awards
ORLANDO, Fla. - After concluding the regular season with its third consecutive Sunshine State Conference championship, The University of Tampa earned both the offensive and defensive player of the week awards. Erin Clark earned her fifth offensive player of the week honor as Margeaux Sinibaldi was named defensive player of the week for the third time in 2007.
Clark, from Tampa, helped the number two Spartans close out the regular season with a pair of conference road wins, averaging 6.0 kills per game and hitting at a solid .420 clip. In a four-game win at Barry, she tallied 19 kills, five digs, four blocks, and two service aces with a .438 attack percentage. In a four-game victory at Lynn, she registered a career-high 29 kills, five digs, and three blocks with a .411 hitting percentage.
Sinibaldi, a senior libero from Venice, Fla., extended her stretch of 20-dig performances to six, tallying 26 digs in a win at Barry and 22 in a victory at Lynn. For the week, Sinibaldi averaged 6.0 digs per frame and helped limit Tampa's opponents to a .147 attack percentage.
