Spartans Hold Firm at National Number Four Ranking
LEXINGTON, Ky. - After a 9-0 start to the 2008 season, The University of Tampa volleyball team has remained in the national top five as they held onto their fourth-place ranking in the newest AVCA Division II Coaches Poll.
Tampa is coming off a perfect weekend where it defeated Clarion, #17 West Florida and West Georgia at the South Region Crossover in Lakeland.
While being ranked in 166 consecutive polls, the Spartans have also been ranked in the national top 10 for 45 straight weeks.
UT faces a pair of tough tests this week, beginning with a road match on Wednesday versus seventh-ranked Florida Southern College. Tampa then travels to 22nd-ranked Saint Leo on Friday.
