Melissa Vanderhall Named SSC Player of the Week
ORLANDO, Fla. - University of Tampa volleyball player Melissa Vanderhall has been named the Sunshine State Conference Offensive Player of the Week for her performances in a pair of SSC victories.
Vanderhall, a sophomore from Hempstead, N.Y., led the fourth-ranked Spartans to a pair of conference wins, averaging 3.7 kills and 1.6 digs per set. In a four-set win at Eckerd, Vanderhall tallied 17 kills, six digs, and a service ace. In a five-set thriller against Lynn, she posted 16 kills, eight digs, a service ace, and a block. For the week, she recorded a .303 hitting percentage.
