Melissa Vanderhall Earns SSC Player of the Week Award
ORLANDO, Fla. - For the third time this season, University of Tampa volleyball player Melissa Vanderhall has been named the Sunshine State Conference Offensive Player of the Week. She received the award along with Camila Lins from Lynn.
Vanderhall, a sophomore from Hempstead, N.Y., averaged 4.4 kills per set to help the No. 7 Spartans clinch their fourth consecutive SSC title. In a three-set sweep over Eckerd, she tallied 13 kills with a career-high .524 attack percentage and posted seven blocks. In a five-set thriller at Lynn, Vanderhall collected 22 kills and eight digs to help lift UT to victory. For the week, she hit .338 and averaged 1.4 digs, 0.9 blocks, and 0.4 aces per set.
