Danielle Selkridge Picks Up Second AVCA National Player of the Week Award
LEXINGTON, Ky. - After leading her team to an undefeated Sunshine State Conference record and the top-seed in the NCAA South Regional, University of Tampa volleyball player Danielle Selkridge closed out the regular season as the AVCA National Player of the Week.
Selkridge, a senior middle hitter for the No. 7 Spartans, picks up the Sports Imports/AVCA Division II National Player of the Week for the second time this season. She also earned the accolade on Oct. 23.
Selkridge helped Tampa clinch its eighth straight SSC title with a win over Eckerd where she blasted 18 kills with no errors. She also added another five blocks and hit .692 for the match. A few days later she had another strong match against Barry, hitting .533 with another 10 kills in the sweep, finishing the week averaging 3.5 kills per set.
This marks the fourth time a player from Tampa has earned a Sports Imports/AVCA Division II Player of the Week honor, with three of those coming from Selkridge.
