Danielle Selkridge Headlines List of Four Tampa All-Region Performers
LEXINGTON, Ky. - The American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) announced its all-region lists for each of the eight NCAA Division II regions, honoring four University of Tampa players.
Two-time Sunshine State Conference Player of the Year Danielle Selkridge earned her third all-South Region selection as Meagan Burke and Holly Reschke were also named to the team. Kahley Patrick has tabbed an honorable mention selection.
Selkridge, the national leader with a .503 hitting percentage also leads all Spartans with 368 kills, 27 solo blocks, 74 block assists, 101 total blocks and 433.0 total points. She has also been named the AVCA National Player of the Week on two occasions this season,
Burke, also a middle hitter, ranks in the national top-10 with a .396 hitting percentage. The dual sport star, who is also a standout softball player for the Spartans, has 193 kills and 90 total blocks while starting 25 matches.
Reschke, an outside hitter, ranks second on the team with 311 kills, also has 20 service aces, 177 digs and 41 total blocks. She has notched double figure kills in 17 matches this season.
Patrick, a sophomore setter, now has 1,050 assists this season for an average of 10.19 per set. She has also accumulated 229 digs and 23 total blocks.
Each of the three Spartans named to the all-region team will now appear on the national ballot for All-American honors. Member coaches at NCAA Division II institutions will vote on the team.
