Spartans Move Up One Spot in AVCA Poll
Tampa has now been ranked in 276 straight top-25 polls.
LEXINGTON , Ky. – The University of Tampa volleyball team moved up one spot No. 21 in the latest American Volleyball Coaches Association Division II poll as released Monday.
The Spartans sit at 10-4 on the season with a 4-2 tally in SSC contests after sweeping Lynn in its lone match of the week. A scheduled matchup versus Barry was postponed due to Hurricane Matthew.
For the second straight week, Minnesota-Duluth remains on top of the poll. Concordia-St. Paul stays at the two spot, followed by Southwest Minnesota State, Wheeling Jesuit and Nebraska-Kearney.
Palm Beach Atlantic is up one spot to No. 14, and remains the highest-ranked program in the region. SSC rival Florida Southern sits at the No. 22 spot. West Florida and North Alabama are each receiving votes to represent the South Region.
Tampa has been ranked in 276 consecutive polling periods dating back to the 1995 campaign. The active program record is second only to Central Missouri, as the Jennies are ranked No. 16 in this week's poll.
