Spartans Place 15th At NCAA Championships
LOUISVILLE, Ky. - The University of Tampa women's cross country team braved the cold, snowy conditions to finish No. 15 at the 2010 NCAA Division II Cross Country Championships on Saturday at E.P. "Tom" Sawyer State Park.
Heather Nicolosi led the Spartans with a 34th place finish. The junior from Seminole, Fla., became an All-American after finishing with a time of 22:14 in the women's 6K.
Lindsay Edwards (66th, 22:52.1), Kelly Hagan (124th, 23:53.6), Kaia Hampton (131st, 23:58.7), Katie O'Brien (139th, 24:14), Iolani Scanlon (169th, 25:08.4) and Chanelle Cox (171st, 25:14.7) were also part of UT's championship competition contingent.
Tony Nicolosi also competed as an individual in the men's championship, finishing 95th in the 10K. Nicolosi posted a 32:40.9 showing for the Spartans.
