No. 3 Tampa Sweeps SSC Doubleheader at Embry‑Riddle
DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. — The No. 3 University of Tampa baseball team completed a Sunshine State Conference doubleheader sweep at Embry‑Riddle on Saturday at Sliwa Stadium, earning a 4–3 win in the opener and a 6–0 shutout in the nightcap.
The Spartans improved to 26–4 overall and 12–0 in SSC play, winning both games behind strong pitching performances and timely situational hitting to remain unbeaten in conference competition.
Game 1: Tampa 4, Embry‑Riddle 3
Tampa struck early and held off a late push from the Eagles to take the opener by one run.
The Spartans plated two runs in the second inning. Jordan Evans drove in the first run with an RBI single, and a throwing error allowed another run to score for a 2–0 lead. Tampa added single runs in the third and fourth, highlighted by an RBI double by Jack Martinez and an RBI single from Jake Books, pushing the margin to 4–1.
Embry‑Riddle closed the gap in the seventh when Drew Clymer delivered a two‑run double, making it a one‑run game, but Tampa pitching escaped further damage and secured the win.
B.J. Bailey earned the victory with a strong start, and Tobin Moran recorded the save with three innings of relief.

On the mound, John Luke Glanton was outstanding, working eight shutout innings while allowing just five hits. Oscar Hernandez finished the game with a clean ninth to secure the victory.
