Tampa Men's Golf Surges With Strong Second, Third Rounds
DAVIE, Fla. – The University of Tampa men's golf team enjoyed an excellent finish to the NSU Shark Invitational, finishing seventh overall at the event featuring nine Sunshine State Conference opponents.

OTHER NOTABLES:
- Syed led the Spartans for the first time this season. His second-round 67 marked the top round for all Spartans.
- Eubank Jr., and Mercier added sub-70 rounds, carding a 68 in the second and third rounds, respectively.
- Head coach Gary Hilton registered Calvin Holmes as his lone individual. He would finish with a 229.
- The Spartans posted the top score of the field with a 280 in round two, which was four strokes behind Barry's opening-round 276.
- A total of 12 teams competed.
- Barry's A.J. Ewart was the medalist with a 202 (-11), winning by two strokes.
- Joining the Spartans, team-champion Barry and host Nova Southeastern (6) from the SSC were Lynn (2), Florida Southern (4), Palm Beach Atlantic (8), Rollins (9), Florida Tech (10) and Embry-Riddle (12).

Tampa travels to the Copperhead Championship, which is scheduled for October 18-19 at the Copperhead Course in Palm Harbor, Fla.
